Sleep & Food
Abi’s sleep schedule is in flux. Â Sunday night she was up at 10, 11, 12:30-2:30, 3:30 and 5:30. Â The next night she was only up at 12:30. Â Last night, she was up at 12:30, 2:30 and 3:30. Â Go figure. Â Mommy & Daddy will try some new sleeping “tricks’ tonight to see if they have any luck in getting her to sleep better.
We are making progress food-wise though. Â For a while, Abi would eat no solid food other than cereal / oatmeal. Â Mommy ate lots of oatmeal when she was pregnant, and so it looks like Abi developed a taste for it. Â For several weeks, Mommy & Daddy kept offering Abi both fresh and jarred fruits & vegetables to no avail. Â Today, however, Abi enjoyed eating freshly made sweet potato and freshly made apple. Â Mommy thinks that she will try freshly made asparagus next, followed by tomato.
What a terrific mommy and daddy. I can’t remember doing such gret things for my children. Lucky, lucky Abi.

(-: Thanks. I bet the jarred food available when your kids were small tasted better than what is currently on the market.
On an unrelated note, a few days ago, Abi and I walked by a teenage girl smoking a cigarette as she walked along the street. I was sorely tempted to stop her and say, “How can you smoke? …think of your mother & father … they gave up many nights sleep to raise you …” Fortunately for everyone involved, I resisted this urge. How perspective changes with children!
