Our current phase

Whenever Abi is challenging, I have to remind myself that she is simply going through different phases (i.e., everything shall pass), and that growing and learning is hard work.  She has gone from being an outgoing baby to a shy child, but her stranger anxiety is much less severe than that of other kids.  Where she once tried any food, she now prefers just breastmilk.

However, she is clearly working very hard at learning and growing.  Based on her older friend’s development pattern, I expect that she will be walking within 2 months or so.  She is also also making cognitive leaps and bounds.  She can now do the following upon request:

  • Hug
  • Clap hands
  • Point to her head
  • Wave
  • Indicate whether she wants “more” or is “all done”

She is also starting to be more daring with new foods.  Today, she tried a chip and humus.  Yay!

Oh you are so right – play is how children learn – and Abi is clearly a good learner. And the most adorable baby in the whole world!!!
