Abi’s new word of the day
soap
Abi walked from Dunkin Donuts on Broadway to Isis, and had a lot of fun walking down the big girl steps all by herself.
Poor, poor Daddy . . .only gets to watch Futurama. Â Abi refuses to let him watch anything else, not even Family Guy. Â She just wants to watch Futurama. Â And Daddy has to pay attention while they’re watching. Â Otherwise, she’ll elbow him, or even bite him. Â How dare he not pay attention to their show . . . even though he’s seen the episode 20 times already? Â Guess what Abi & Daddy are watching this week?
watching cartoons with Daddy. Â Particularly Futurama & Family Guy. Â Daddy loves watching cartoons with Abi too.
is John Lennon & Chumbawumba.
Abi was really excited to see Grandma & Grandpa for her birthday. Â She had fun opening her presents, and hanging out with Grandma & Grandpa at her birthday party.
She really likes copying what adults do. Â You can see her here drinking of water. Â She sometimes demands to carry her own lunchbox up the house stairs. Â It’s very heavy, so she puts it on a step, walks up the step, and then moves it to the next step.
Abi had her 2-year physical this week.
She gained 6lbs and almost 3 inches over the last 6 months. Â She is now 70+ percentile in height and 50+ percentile in weight.
She is meeting or exceeding all of her milestones, including speech. Â She can identify some colors (usually) and find things in a book, which are all 3 year milestones. Â She can say more than 20 words, which is the 2 year milestone. Â In fact, it seems to Mommy that she learns several new words on most days.
Grandma, thanks for your comments. They make it much more fun to write the blog.
Momny, Daddy & Abi went out to dinner last night to celebrate Abi’s birthday, Daddy’s promotion, Mommy’s acceptance onto the appellate panel, and one or two other things. Â Abi sat through dinner (no running around). Â She drew with her crayons, ate food, and demanded to drink from Mommy’s water glass. Â She then dragged us to the toy & baby supply store (few blocks away) where she had fun playing with the scooter (see below). Â She only ran one lap around the restaurant . . . how strangely unlike her. Â Maybe she’s suddenly “all grown up”. Â As she will tell you, she is after all “tu”.
Wishing our delightful, adorable, brilliant, beautiful and self-rescuing granddaughter a fabulous 2nd birthday.
OOOOO & XXXXXX
