Oldies but goodies

Abi & Mommy are training to run their first 5K with Grandpa Michael. Â They started a running group for other mommies & babies, and had their first run today. Â It was very hot out, so Abi got her first bottle of water (ever). Â She had under an ounce.
Abi encountered her first bully. Â She was sitting, playing at her plagroup. Â A walking baby came up to her, and yanked her binky out of her mouth by pulling on the binky leash. Â No harm was done, and Abi went back to playing.
Abi has been showing off her new sitting skills.
Here she is at a babyproofing seminar and also at a playgroup:
After the playgroup, I went to the library where I fed her while she slept. Â She sat up several times in her sleep. Â In the evening, she was laying on the couch next to Daddy, who thought his glasses were out of arms-reach for her. Â She sat up, grabbed his glasses, and fell back down.
Abi’s pediatrician did not believe Daddy that Abi is teething. Â However, she has been scratching at her left gums. Â Today, she has been pulling her left year and massaging her left cheek. Â Mommy is quite sure that Abi is teething.
Last week, Abi started waking up every few hours. Â Mommy was very, very tired. Â However, Mommy figured out that Abi was waking up so frequently because she was not eating much during the day (because of her gum pain) and was thus really hungry at night. Â Mommy thus started feeding Abi once she falls asleep for her daytime naps. Â It has been working. Â Last night, Abi only woke up once.
Uncle Richie came to visit last week. Â Mommy asked Uncle Richie if he wanted to have kids more now that he was around Abi. Â He said “no”. Â Auntie Riva had the same response to the same question. Â Mommy thinks it’s because Auntie Riva & Uncle Richie realize how much work babies are. Â Abi is not doing a good job of convincing her aunt & uncle to make cousins for her.
Mommy & Abi went to a social sponsored by the Women’s Bar Association. Â They had a great time. Â Everyone was respectful of Abi’s personal space except for one lawyer who kept touching Abi. Â Mommy got annoyed.
Mommy used Daddy’s ergo carrier for the first time – Abi liked it a lot, and even fell asleep in it. Â Mommy ate while Abi was in the carrier, and Abi came home covered in seasame seeds.
Here it is. Â Click to see video
For all you Windows / PC users, we’ll figure out how to make these videos accessible to you this weekend. Â In the interim, try clicking above, where it says “click to see video” in case it works.
During the last 3-4 nights, Abi has been waking every 2-3 hours to feed, and each feeding has been taking about an hour. Â Mommy is very. very tired.
Good morning Abi. I loved the video you and Mommy made yesterday. And I loved the pictures of you and Daddy from last Sunday. While I wish we lived closer and had easy ways to see each other in person more often – this really makes me feel like I am in your life every day and that makes me very happy :). Grandpa and I look forward to reading and watching your adventures and it makes him think about all the great places he wants to take you to. Well, that’s it for now – but remember – Grandma loves you!!!
I hear Grandma is enjoying blogging.
Do you want a username and password too so that you can post your own entries for Abi?
Â
Grandma Linda loves to read about Abi’s daily adventures – even just knowing that she pooped 3 times yesterday made her happy. Who would have ever thought that Grandma would become a blogger! Only Abi could have made this transformation happen. Who knows – I might even have a Face Book page soon so I can share all of Abi’s adventures with extended friends and family. Can’t wait for our next video chat.
Abi – remember – Grandma Loves You!!!
Â
Mommy is excited that Grandma Linda will now post to Abi’s blog. Â And Grand Daddy Michael had a great comment too!
Here are some random thoughts about the last day:
Abi likes it because it is small enough to fit into her hands, she can pull and push on it, and it makes noise. Â Abi has really been making a killing in terms of toys. Â Â Â
